Fashion Recap: Oscars 2014

The Oscars were last night and my house was lucky enough to keep power long enough to watch the whole thing. The wind and snow were intense last night; breakers were blowing and branches were breaking all over the neighborhood. Recent awards ceremonies I haven’t been too excited on many outfits but last night I loved a lot of the looks but I narrowed it down to my top 5!

1. Jennifer Lawrence

She is amazing! I love her in Dior, I love the necklace draping down her back, and I love the fact that she tripped walking the red carpet. I need to see American Hustle ASAP!

2. Kate Hudson

She is my favorite actress and every red carpet she seems to kill it! This Versace dressed looked flawless on her and it got even better when she removed the cape like draping when she presented an award.

3. Olivia Wilde (& Jason Sudeikis) 

Rocking Valentino while pregnant and looks amazing. I loved the white panel detailing in the back and the high neck. Jason Sudeikis  (My ultimate celeb crush) was also looking pretty handsome!

4. Sandra Bullock

Could Gravity have won any more awards?! I was never drawn to seeing that movie but now after the Oscars, I feel like I need to! I loved this deep navy Alexander McQueen gown on her with her side swept curls. Elegance at its best.

5. Angelina Jolie ( & Brad Pitt)

Another duo, I know! But the guys looked just as great that evening. Angelina Jolie is never one of my favorites, I’m not sure why. This long sleeve, beaded Elie Saab dress was perfection on her. She was glowing and looked super feminine.

Another few honorable mentions of my other favorites were:

– Kerry Washington: Uhhh hello gorgeous pregnant lady in purple!
– Lupito Nyong’o: Nirobi Blue. Enough said.
– Jennifer Garner: That fringe was gorgeous but her hair was my favorite.
– Anne Hathaway: Someone I’m not usually a fan of looked gorgeous in Gucci.
– Emma Watson: This metallic Vera Wang top & skirt was everything to me.

Oscars 2013

The Oscars was one of the best red carpets this season so far. At most of the awards this year, I haven’t been as excited about the outfits as I was on Sunday! But on the other hand, the actual awards ceremony bored me to tears! I stopped it half way through and decided to watch Silver Linings Playbook for the fourth time with my parents. (I’m overly obsessed, I know)

Now for my top 5 looks of the night:

1. Jennifer Garner in Gucci
I absolutely love this outfit! The deep maroon color, the frill down the back, and the elaborate necklace is all perfect! She has been wearing all my favorite looks so far this awards season.

2. Amy Adams in Oscar De La Renta
This is the ultimate Oscar’s gown! I love the texture of the dress and her undone up-do finishes it off perfectly. I used to think light grey’s would wash out pale skin but it compliments it flawlessly!

3. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture
It wouldn’t be my best dressed list without Jennifer Lawrence. She won best actress and fell over her ginormous dress all very gracefully. I loved this gown on her with the delicate necklace draped down her back. But I might be biased because I’m such a big fan! Although, my favorite Oscar’s look of hers is still the red dress she worn when nominated for Winter’s Bone.

4. Stacy Keibler in Naeem Kahn
Can you believe she used to be a professional wrestler and now she is George Clooney’s super fashionable girlfriend. Talk about the ultimate upgrade! I love everything about this dress, especially the see through back.

5. Samantha Barks in Valentino
I’ve never heard of this actress before but I loved her choice of dress! The low cut neckline, classic silhouette and color made me drool! She looked amazing.
